ಜಯ ಚಂದಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೋಹಾ ನ ಸಮರ

ಹದಿನಾರನೆಯ ಶತಮಾನದ ಆದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜಸ್ತಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇವಾಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾರ್ವಾರ್ ಮನೆತನಗಳು ಪ್ರಭುತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದವು. ಆ ಕಾಲವೂ ನಿರಂತರ ವಿದೇಶೀ ಆಕ್ರಮಣಗಳನ್ನು ನೇರಾನೇರಾ ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಘೋರ ಕಾಲಘಟ್ಟವೇ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೂ ಈ ಎರಡು ರಾಜಪೂತರು ಒಂದಾಗಿರದೆ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ವೈರತ್ವವನ್ನಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು .
1532 ರಲ್ಲಿ ರಾವ್ ಮಾಲ್ ದೇವ್ ಮಾರ್ವಾರಿನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವನ್ನೇರಿದ್ದ. ತನ್ನ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ದೆಹಲಿಯಿಂದ ಕೇವಲ 50 ಮೈಲಿ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಹಿಸ್ಸರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಜಝ್ಹರ್ ತನಕ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿದ್ದ. ಇದರಿಂದ ದೆಹಲಿಯನ್ನಾಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾಹ್ ಸೂರಿಗೆ ಗುಜರಾತ್ ಮತ್ತು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಏಷ್ಯಾದೊಂದಿಗಿನ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಕಡಿತಗೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾಹನ ಸಾಮಂತರು ತಾರೀಖ್ ಇ ದೌದ್ರಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ದಕ್ಷಿಣದ ಶಿಯಾ ಸುಲ್ತಾನರನ್ನು ಮಣಿಸಲೆಂದು ದಂಡಯಾತ್ರೆ ಹೊರಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾಹ್ ಸಮ್ಮತಿಸಿದನಾದರೋ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲು ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತವನ್ನು ಇಸ್ಲಾಮೀಕರಣಗೊಳಿಸದೇ ದಕ್ಷಿಣಕ್ಕೆ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಹಾಗು ಮೊದಲು ಆ ಖಾಫಿರ್ ರಾವ್ ಮಾಲದೇವನನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಆ ಮಾರ್ವಾರನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿದ್ದ .
ಷೇರ್ ಷಾ 80000 ಬಲದ ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸೇನೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾರ್ವಾರಿನ ದಂಡಯಾತ್ರೆಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿ 1543ಯ ಚಳಿಗಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜಸ್ತಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಲಿಟ್ಟ. ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಜಾಕರೂಕತೆಯಿಂದ ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಮಾಲದೇವನ ಸರಹದ್ದಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೇನೆ ಡೇರೆ ಹಾಕಿತ್ತು. ಇದರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಮಾಲದೇವನೂ 50000 ಬಲದ ಸೇನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ (ಬಹುತೇಕ ಅಶ್ವದಳ ಮತ್ತು ಒಂಟೆಗಳ ಪಡೆ) ಸಮೀಪಿಸಿದ. ಮಾಲದೇವನಿಗೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡದೇ ಎದುರಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಮಣಿಸಿವ ಒಂದು ತಂತ್ರ ತಿಳಿದಿತ್ತು . ಹೇಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾಹನದ್ದು ಅತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸೇನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಆಹಾರ ನೀರಿನ ಸರಬರಾಜಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಆಗುವುದು ಶತಃಸಿದ್ದ. ಅದರಿಂದ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾನ ಸೇನೆ ಬಸವಳಿಯುವ ತನಕವೂ ಕಾದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಲವಾದ ಹೊಡೆತ ನೀಡಲೆಂದು ಮಾಲದೇವನೂ ಸಹಿತ ತನ್ನ ಸೇನೆಯನ್ನು ಡೇರೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕಾದು ಕುಳಿತ .
ಮಾಲದೇವನ ಈ ಉಪಾಯ ಫಲಪ್ರದಾಯಕ ವಾಯಿತು . ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡದೇ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾಹನ ಸೇನೆ ಅನ್ನಾಹಾರದ ಕೊರತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲಿತು. ಷೇರ್ ಷಾ ಚಿಂತಾಕ್ರಾಂತನಾದ. ಆಗ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾ ತನ್ನ ನರಿ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯ ಕುಟಿಲ ಉಪಾಯ ಹೂಡಿದ. ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟು ನಕಲು ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಲದೇವನ ಪಾಳೇಗಾರರನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಬರೆದು ತನ್ನತ್ತ ಮಾಲದೇವನ ಪಾಳೇಗಾರರು ಕುಟಿಲ ತಂತ್ರ ರಚಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಆ ಪತ್ರಗಳು ಮಾಲದೇವನಿಗೆ ಸಿಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ. ಈ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಲದೇವನ ಪಾಳೇಗಾರರು ಸಾರಾಸಗಟು ತಳ್ಳಿಹಾಕಿದರೂ ಮಾಲದೇವ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಮುರಿದು ತನ್ನ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸೇನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ತೆರಳುತ್ತಾನೆ! ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಪಾಳೇಗಾರರು ಏನು ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ ? ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ವಿಚಲಿತರಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರ ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚುವಂಥದ್ದೇ . ಕೇವಲ 20000ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಸೇನೆಯಿದ್ದರೂ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾಹನ ಎಂಬತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಸೇನೆಯನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಲು ಪಣತೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ .
ಜಯ ಚಂದಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೋಹಾ ತಮ್ಮ ಸೇನೆಯ ಅಶ್ವಪಡೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾಹನ ಸೇನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮುಗಿಬಿದ್ದರು. ಅದೆಂಥಹ ಭೀಕರವಾಗಿ ಧಾಳಿಮಾಡಿದರೆಂದರೆ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾಹನ ಸೇನೆಯ ಒಂದು ಬೃಹತ್ ಭಾಗವೇ ನಾಶವಾಯಿತು. ಅವರ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮ ಅಲ್ಪಕಾಲದ್ದೇ ಆದರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಷ್ಠೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾಬೀತು ಪಡಿಸಿದರು. “ ಆ ಖಾಫೀರರು ನಮ್ಮ ಫೌಜನ್ನು ಕೊಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ . . . ” ಎಂದು ಒಬ್ಬ ಅಫ್ಘಾನಿ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾಹನಿಗೆ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಮುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದಾಗ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾಹ್ ಹರ ಸಾಹಸಪಟ್ಟು ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಖವಾಸ್ ಖಾನ್ ತನ್ನ ಪಡೆಯಿಂದ ಜಯ ಮತ್ತು ಗೋಹಾರನ್ನು ಕಾದಾಡಿ ಕೊಂದು ಕೊನೆಗೆ ವಿಜಯ ವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದಾಗ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾಹ್ ನಿಟ್ಟುಸಿರು ಬಿಡುತ್ತಾ “ ಹಿಡಿಕಾಳಿನ ಆಸೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನಲ್ಲಾ . . . . ”
ಇದಾಗಿ ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಷೇರ್ ಷಾಹನನ್ನು ಬುಂದೇಲಖಂಡದ ಖಲಿಂಜರ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದಾಗ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲಾಯಿತು. ಅಷ್ಟಲ್ಲದೇ ಸಮರ್ ನ ಸಮರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಫ್ಘನ್ನರನ್ನು ಅಜ್ಮೆರ್ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಗೋರಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಓಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ರಾಜಸ್ತಾನಿಯರ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ ಮತ್ತು ಬಲಿದಾನಗಳು ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ಲಾಮೀ ಧಾಳಿಕೋರರಿಂದ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪಾರ ಪಾತ್ರವಿದೆ .
ಆದರೂ ಆ ದಿನ ಮಾಲದೇವನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇನೆಯನ್ನು ತೊರೆಯದಿದ್ದರೆ . . .

ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶ ನಾಯಿಪಾಡಾಗಿ ಕುಲಗೆಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿರುವುದೇ ಜಾತಿ ವೈಷಮ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೂಢ ನಂಬಿಕೆಗಳಿಂದ.

This is Hindutva spin on the rich and multidimensional history of India. Rulers from Islamic traditions are purposefully and wrongly termed as ಇಸ್ಲಾಮೀ ಧಾಳಿಕೋರ whereas transgressions by one Hindu ruler over the dominion of another Hindu ruler are treated like normal business. Every Hindu King is a ಧಾಳಿಕೋರ and history is ripe with examples of greedy and cruel Hindu kings waging wars on weaker neighbours. The Mahabharata itself is an epic of ಧಾಳಿಕೋರ Hindu kings. But Hindutva brigade targets only Muslim rulers to vent their anger and hatred.
Mahabharata was also an epic depicting the battle of principles in larger terms.
Ismamic invasion was that of greed, bigotism,fanaticism,cruelty,destruction.
The Hampi,endless number of temples,recently one pictured in Raichur, the destruction by Tippu, ourangajeb and sons of such pigs have left unwavering evidence of their lowliness if life.

Are you a historian? What research and field study have you done about Muslim rulers of india? Some of them rank among the greatest rulers in the history of entire world. Some of them were great warriors, administrators, poets, patrons of art, music and literature. They knew Sanskrit better than Hindutva dolts like you.
